Acarya Rudrananda Avadhuta
Affectionately called “Dada Ji” – respected brother
Acarya Rudrananda dedicated his life to the service of humanity as a Yogic Monk in 1963, joining the Ananda Marga Mission as an Acarya (one who teaches by example), just two years after he learned spiritual meditation skills from the Reverend Spiritual Master Shrii Shrii Anandamurti in India.
As an Acarya, he has instructed many thousands of seekers in the practice of meditation, yoga exercises (Asanas), yoga health practices such as fasting and remedies, and in Tantra, an ancient spiritual science.
His lectures and presentations cover many fascinating topics, including:

  • Yoga Psychology
  • Neo‐Humanism
  • Microvita
  • Ek Manav Samaj (One Human Society)
  • Kiirtan and Prabhat Samgiit
  • Science of Sadhana (spiritual practices)
  • Progress and Science
  • Culture and Civilization
  • Bhakti and Seva (Devotion and Service)

Dada Ji regularly performs public speaking in various seminars, symposia, conferences, board rooms, living rooms and salon – he is multi‐lingual and articulate with an excellent command of English. He has been hosted by venues in thirty‐one nations… sharing good conversation with and inspiration to universities, Rotary and religious associations, governmental agencies, business clubs, and the like. Acarya relates theoretical, yet is rooted in the practical.
His life as a monk entails an intense personal discipline: Multiple meditation sessions daily, participation in regular collective meditation programs (at least weekly), twice daily Yoga Asanas with Tandava and Kaoshiki, periodic outdoor Sadhana observances in remote natural areas, four‐times fasting in a month, strict Sattvik vegetarian diet, following advance conduct expectations that are appropriate for Monks, regular selfless service where there is no expectation of any return favor. In other words, Acarya lives the life, and leads by the example of his own behavior.
As the General Training Secretary of Seva Dharma Mission, he is responsible for a dozen intensive training centers worldwide that prepare Monk neophytes with the practical, philosophical, personal and spiritual tools to perform lifelong service. In this key management role, his experience, creativity, leadership capacity and sense of humor is instrumental in the careful analysis and resolution of simple and complex challenges, not only in the Ashram of the monks‐in‐training, but also in the symphonic global mission of service for all humankind.
